The Essence of Elephants

September 26th, 2016

The Essence of Elephants

Elephants have always amazed me! These gentle giants have an unspoken strength that is only awakened when threatened. The dedication and loyalty elephants have for one another is incredible. They mourn when one of its own is killed, they rally when one of its own is in trouble, and they will kill to save one of its own.

Elephants may not be the most beautiful animal to look at but to know them is to love them...their demeanor and what they are all about makes them more beautiful on the inside than on the outside.

I hope you enjoy my elephant series!

A Tribute to the Great Masters of Art

I hope you enjoy my Tribute to the Great Masters of Art. I have shared all of my current designs with you. However, I still have quite a healthy list of a lot of the Great Masters that are waiting to be painted.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my tribute and that each one of my designs puts a smile on your face!

Blues and Whites

Blues and Whites

There's something very soothing about blues and whites. I remember the family room at my parents house always decorated with blues and whites...from sofa covers, decoration to pillow and throw rugs! Still today, I visit my mom often and love sitting in this room and taking it all in.

Put a little blue and white in your life!

Painting Animal Personalities

September 4th, 2016

It's early early Sunday morning and I decided to add several more giraffe paintings to my page. In just a few days, you all have put a smile on my face and in my heart by the number of people who have visited! I have fun looking at the viewing numbers of the paintings that have become most popular. Well, I have to say that right now Aggie's abstract Giraffe Attitude is in the lead! So, I added several more of my giraffe designs to the mix...I hope you enjoy.

Animals are so much fun to paint. My goal is to paint each animal with the expression of their personality. Every animal has a personality. Most of my work captures animals close up rather than far away because I think animal's eyes, just as humans, are the windows to their souls and express their personalities.

Have a wonderful Sunday...thank you for visiting!

The Great Masters of Art

September 3rd, 2016

Today, I have added my first art series that I launched many years ago! I love the Great Masters of Art and remember studying them in a Humanities class I took in college. I thought about doing this series for several years before I began painting them. I thought it would be fun to introduce the Great Masters of Art by combining the artist name with an animal and then paint a picture with their art style...even painting some of their most popular paintings they created and replace their subject or incorporate in the painting an animal. My first one was the Manatisse which was created and painted from Matisse's self portrait. I have several others that I will be posting after I resize some artwork so the designs will work better for the items available.

I created the Michelangelo series to express the power of the human touch. My take-off from the famous "two hands" you often see from The Creation of Adam allows me to reach out and portray that it takes the human touch to care, save, love, and protect other precious lives...only we as humans have the power to do this. As for the CigART and the paintbrush...I just had too...Ybor City cigar making put my city of Tampa on the map. And, as an artist, I wanted to paint something for artist and artist at heart that went hand-in-hand...no pun intended!

I hope you enjoy my expression of and my love and appreciation for these Great Masters of Art!

Welcome to My Dream

September 2nd, 2016

Welcome to My Dream

After 30 years in the corporate world, I decided to trade in my suits, high heels, and meetings for jeans, paintbrushes, and the art scene. In fact, it's my business perspective that has served me well as a commercial artist and it is the artist inside of me that served me well throughout my career and as a community leader today!

My sense of humor and the ability to think and see things differently has always been at the foundation of my approach to living life. Nothing makes my heart smile more than making others laugh, see another side of something, look at life differently, and live life with a colorful spin. Art has always been a part of my life thanks to my family. My inspiration comes from my family and friends who have always accepted and embraced my zaniness, craziness, and mindfullness (yes, with two l's because my mind is always full!) - I am truly blessed.

I hope you enjoy my world of art and art of mind. Perhaps you will see something that makes you smile or think differently. I look forward to adding more Aggie designs in the near future...in the meantime, Get Your Aggie On!

Best,

Aggie
